Elly and Wilhelm Kuch had their workshop in Burgthann, Franconia and were dedicated to ceramic art throughout their lives. The main focus of Elly and Wilhelm Kuch were vessel ceramics (unique pieces, vases, bowls and dishes), various building ceramics (murals, single plates), objects and sculptures. The special interest of both artists was ceramic sculpture. The material was mainly stoneware and for some pieces a porcelain shard was used. Firing was done at 1340 degrees in a gas kiln with a reduced flame. The technical quality of the produced ceramics was always the focus of the ceramic artists. The transformation of the clay and the glaze it carried were the basis for this. Wilhelm Kuch and Elly Kuch have received many awards and honorary prizes for their work and were internationally known.
